    207045 - Healthy Families BG

    Are you looking to improve your family’s health? Is your family’s idea of physical activity finding the T.V. remote control? Are your New Year’s resolutions just a distance memory? Participate in the Healthy Families BG Wellness Challenge (HFWC) at BGSU and get the skills and confidence to improve you and your family’s eating habits and increase physical activity for a lifetime.

    HFWC will take place on BGSU campus in room 131 of the Health and Human Services building and will meet once a month on Wednesday from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Dates of the program are January 31st, February 28th, March 28th and April 25th.

    Weekly challenges and additional support will be offered using the group’s Facebook page along with additional and optional “bonus” activities in the form of grocery store tours and cooking classes.

    The face-to-face part of the program, held on campus, is geared towards parents, caregivers and children between the ages of 9 and 14, but the entire family is encouraged to participate in the challenge. Cost of the program is $25.

    Are you interested in a different approach to achieve a healthy weight without counting calories? Choosing more plant-based meals will put you on the right path! Join, Build a Better Body, a group program for healthy eating and receive guidance on how to properly fuel your body.

    Program begins February 12 and includes:
    Weekly group sessions
    Strategies to navigate the BGSU Dining Halls
    New foods to taste and cooking demonstrations
    On-line support to move toward a plant-based diet

    Program is available to BGSU students and is administered by the BGSU Food and Nutrition Program.Cost of the program is $25.

    207071 - SAAM 5K and Dog Walk

    The SAAM 5K and Dog Walk is a collaborative effort with the BGSU It's On Us committee and many other partnering BGSU offices and organizations. Proceeds benefit The Coccon, which provides emergency and comprehensive support services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    Because we award prizes to top finishers according to age and gender, we ask that you identify a gender category to compete among. If you do not want to compete for a gendered prize, you can select prefer not to compete for a gendered prize. We encourage all athletes to participate regardless of gender identity.
